You speak as if one day you’ll complete me
I talk to you as if you weren’t there
But it bothers me when I know you’re not listening
Bothers me to know you don’t care
The words with which you speak won’t affect me
I’ll never listen till the day that I die
And the words with which I talk don’t represent me
Or anything inside my mind
It’s weird
The things we feel
And the people we see
Why did the world ever bring us together?
I just think it seems a little harsh
Why do I need these constant reminders
Of times when I was lost out in the dark?
Then one day it’s a case of ‘you get me’
And it’s a case of knowing it all along
I suffer this in silence only briefly
For I don’t want to spoil your song
One day it’s a case of ‘I tricked you’
Well done for finally finding out
You don’t usually get caught up in these abstractions
Don’t wanna know the why or the how
But I’ll tell you this
You get so…get so high
And you love me
Love me so well
Why does a part of me think you’re perfect?
Why do I have so much trouble letting go?
Why do you have to resemble somebody I knew
Long ago, well my brain gets confused
And tries to make ties with all the other data
Tries to rewire so it’ll all hold
But as is the nature of human complications
I just get bored and then I fold
And why doesn’t life ever give you lemons
It’s not as if I’m asking for a gold castle
Or a Lamourghini
I’m just passing time
Trying to find a way
And you love me here and now
